I have told you the saga of my attempt to have a platonic “pretend valentine” this year and how badly that worked out. So, rather than pick someone else and try again, I decided to have 100 valentines and give away a lot of chocolate! Starting yesterday (Friday), that’s exactly what I did.
On Thursday night, Kevin and I went shopping at Walmart and really did a number on their candy aisle. We were so thorough in our clearing of the inventory that the cashier actually asked me if there was any candy left. I told her, “Yeah, a little bit.” We did leave the SweeTarts and the Gummy Bears. As you can see by the photo of my desk, I was stocked up and ready to go at work yesterday.
As I went about my business yesterday, I handed out little boxes of chocolates to just about everyone who crossed my path – female or male. I even surprised the coffee vendor when he came by to restock our break area. I was the recipient of many, many hugs and smiles. It was great. I even received a gift in return.
It was a great way to start the Valentine’s Day weekend. In a few hours, we’ll head over to the Queen Creek Cafe for breakfast and we’ll continue the festivities there.
Now, what am I going to do for Easter?
