When people call my house they sometimes hear a strange female voice in the background. Considering that the only female currently living here is Lily the cat – and she doesn’t say too much – it usually leads to some questions. Well, in this article, I’ve decided to come clean and tell you all about the “woman” whose voice you might hear when calling or visiting the Hicks household.
Actually, it’s no woman at all. It’s Alexa, my Amazon Echo.
While dealing with Cindy’s passing, I have found that “retail therapy” is quite helpful. One of my favorite purchases (actually, I have two of them) has been the Amazon Echo. It’s a Bluetooth speaker that connects to my Amazon Prime account via WiFi. Alexa plays my music, reads my audio books, reads my Kindle books, tells me jokes, tells me the time/date/weather, wakes me up in the morning, and so much more. I’m a technology geek and always have been, but the Echo is truly one of my favorite technological devices.
Sorry if you found the title or photo misleading. I was just having a little fun and wanted to tell you about one of my favorite things. You should check it out.
(About that woman in the photo above: I have absolutely no idea who that woman is. It’s a stock photo I used to get you to click on this article. Ain’t I a little stinker? )
